Business Photos in Los Angeles

Expectations for business photos

If you are a business professional or entrepreneur in LA like a realtor, artist, salesman, etc you need business photos. A professional photographer in Los Angeles can help so that you capture lifestyle business photos for your marketing material which includes social media posts, marketing ads, flyers, and brochures.

Why do we need business photos?

Anything where you want to show your face or your “brand” is considered marketing material. This includes your website, business cards, social media accounts, flyers, marketing pieces for magazine write-ups.

Sergio Garcia is a business portrait and lifestyle photographer serving Los Angeles and the Greater Los Angeles areas. When you book a photoshoot for your business, Sergio will provide an easy, laid back environment so that you aren’t too distracted by being in front of the camera. Sergio has worked with individuals ranging from models, business owners and is comfortable guiding his subjects in how to pose.

He will also collaborate with you on coming up with photoshoot ideas, wardrobe ideas, and can even connect you with a professional hair and make up artist.

Planning Your Los Angeles Business Photoshoot

If you want to start planning your business photoshoot you need to take the following things into consideration:

    1. Who am I as an individual?
    2. What story am I trying to tell potential customers?

If you don’t know who you are, how is anyone else supposed to know?

Are you a funny, upbeat accountant that can capitalize on being fun and not so dry and all numbers? Are you the creative genius who is also a math whiz? These details will make your LA business photoshoot much more successful. Remember you have to do 50% of the work as well and have a some-what game plan so that you are happy with your lifestyle images.

If all you’re wanting is a pretty photo, we can do that too. However, images where we can capitalize off things you enjoy doing as a hobby (like bike riding, arranging flowers, or doing yoga) will make you stand out from the crowd.

After all, who doesn’t love a real estate agent who can also play the drums?! Use that in your lifestyle photoshoot!

Studio? Location? What do I bring?

Shooting Your Business Portraits In Studio

We have AC, can control the light better, don’t have to worry about getting kicked out of certain areas or get permits. We have different colored backgrounds to choose from, some props like chairs, or apple boxes. You won’t get as oily or sweaty either, so that is always a plus. For women, your hair won’t be in your face as much as it would be if we shoot outside.

A drawback of a studio shoot is you will not have as many different vignette backgrounds to choose from. So if you are wanting a pretty floral background for your lifestyle photoshoot, a studio may not be the best idea.

Shooting Your Business Photoshoot On Location

We have different vignettes to use as backgrounds. This provides a good mix of images. This can be the outside of buildings, cool concrete walls, or beautiful green palm trees in the background. Shooting on location is always great because it will look like you shot over the course of a few days. Why? Because of all the different backgrounds that can be available.

The drawback of shooting on location is that most businesses require permits to shoot on there location. Yes, we constantly get kicked out of locations. It is best that you receive approval of the owner/business before committing to location(s). We do not want to arrive and get kicked out. You will also be dealing with the elements. So expect to possibly get sweaty or your hair to become messy; planning accordingly by bringing your hair and make up products will help.

Props For Your LA Business Photoshoot

You are highly recommended to bring your own props to help compliment your photoshoot as well. These range, depending on what type of shoot you are wanting to do. This can include laptops, ipads, branded material, coffee mugs. You can also bring your dog, any branded material you may have or funky wardrobe options!

We can better plan what you should bring to your business photoshoot in LA once we have a game plan.

What Do I Wear To My Business Photoshoot?

It is recommended you bring an array out outfit options so we can switch you in and out of them and try to capture as many different “looks” on you during our time together.

The wardrobe you bring to your shoot will range. Until we hammer out the ideas you may have, this is tough to answer. However, some guidelines would be the following:

Women Wardrobe Ideas for Photoshoot

  1. Stay away from graphics or patterns. If you have a favorite pieces that has graphics or patterns, make sure they are large and not tiny as they will read wrong on camera.
  2. Go with colors that compliment your skin and eye color. If you want to be bold and try something new you normally wouldn’t wear, this could be a great time; the more options the better!
  3. Hair and make up should be kept simple and clean. Don’t overdo it.
  4. Bring an assortment of footwear. This can be as casual as sneakers or as formal as a good pair of pumps.
  5. Love your jewelry? Bring that too! Have fun with your lifestyle photoshoot!

Men Wardrobe Ideas For Photoshoot

  1. If you wear graphics or patterns, make sure they are large enough to read on camera and not tiny little patterns.
  2. Simple jeans and a crisp white/black t-shirt always looks nice with a pair of clean sneakers.
  3. Bring a blazer to throw over and go from casual to business (but still approachable).
  4. Always bring moisturizer for your skin, some men even apply concealer to even out their skin tone.
  5. Don’t forget chapstick, very important as we do not want chapped lips.
  6. Bring your hair comb and hair products so we can keep your hair in check.

These wardrobe ideas for your business portrait photoshoot are general ideas. Once we have a game plan we can better hammer out details together. If you feel you need a professional hair and make up artist for your shoot, we can help connect you with our network of Los Angeles hair and make up artist. We may also be able to help connect you with wardrobe stylist.
